Where you on the big bridge side of FMB ? We stay right next to the small girder bridge. ie: San Carlos Pass. Easy escape from the island. + We stay away from big school Holidays. I've only been there once during extreme traffic time....luckily that was just a few day stay.
Been there many times in off season and am lucky where I ran into cool weather just once. Few day stretch in the 50's. Rest where good old SWFL.
Unfor you went on a deep freeze year. Whole friggin country got damn cold.
Anyway - love that area. I'd give it another try sometime.

If it makes you feel any better I will not be going out on a performance boat tomorrow. Just taking my dads Senter Counsel to Keewadin Island to drink beer and Grill some fish and lobster and look at all the Hot Women in their bikinis visiting down here from up North right now.
Still had fun though & did work on a race boat that moonlights as a lobster boat 11 months a year.

What would we do without azzclowns like you TM? We already know how good you sissies have it down there, just leave it at that. "Just leave it"............................................... . I'll take the azzclown comment back if you can tell me what movie the "just leave it" quote is from.
hey I may be a Azzclown, but I am a warm one that doesn't have to keep a shovel inside his house so he has to dig a tunnel to their garage to get their snowmobile out to go to work.

Pictures Please! Some of us are living vicariously thru those of you in double digit temps. I can report that its colder than Hell in Moose Island Maine, folks in Boston will have snow till next winter and Portland Me's average temp for Feb was 6! Thats SIX!

Hopefully all the Mazzholes will remain buried in the snow and not come down here either ,we have enough of them here already.
Any specs or pics of the drag-boat/ Lobster boat. Read about those things in Woodenboat years ago.. CRAZY

It's been -20's-'30's in the North a lot of the winter. That's why it has been so busy down there.
===================
Maybe all you guys hate the idea of me coming down and take off........and that's why I've had no issues down there.
LOL.

The story of the owner is more interesting than the boat.....one of the nicest old timers I've ever met. He'll be out there tomorrow, pulling traps...

I was there during the monsoon season in early October at fmb, nice place but humid as heck and the only cool boats I seen were sitting on blocks.
Something cool looking on a lift behind the munchbox on a lift , but all the water looked like espresso when we were there . Not that inviting, but we had a good time off the water.

SB, we stayed on Estero near Charley's Boathouse. 35 minutes at a crawl to get over the bridge to San Carlos, southbound it's even longer to go through the preserve and get back to 41. Lesson learned!
Next time I'll try to find something closer to my family on Pine Island, preferably not on the intercostal side.
