The 38 ft. Bertrams were preceeded by the 32 such as Boss O Nova, Eddie L. "8-Ball" or Sternwinder. Mona Lou and others - also the Bertram Baron the 28 ft. Barron's were in two models - the runabout - and like mine, the long style - I was asked at Bertram when ordering my 38 ft. Bertram which Barron I had, the sedan or the "Needle Nose" version - thats how I got the name Needle Nose for my 28 ft. Bertram that raced in 1972. Attached are a few photos of the 28 and 38. Spoke to Sammy James a month or so ago - he is a fountain of information about the Bertram's as he was the Race Director there years ago - A shame that a boat builder bought the Bertram just decided not to build them - a great Yacht too -

Story I heard was the Chinese wanted the Riva brand name. Since Riva was owned by Ferretti as was Bertram, they bought Feretti and then focused on just the Riva name.
Great name just sitting there waiting for someone to step up. Too bad some Silicon valley guy isn't into these type of boats.
