Unlimited Class forms up strong for this year.
It's great see the Unlimited class racing teams committing so early to a season of racing. At this point the class with 5 very fast boats will be as strong as the Superboat Class with
Performance Marine Kent/Fountain
#3 Bull/Scism
#03 Tomlinson/Harris
Envy Cox/Stotler
Miss Geico Begovich/Granet
other boats that could filter in:
Cintron
Qatar x 2 (Having Qatar back in the mix would be incredible)
Scudaria Cazzini
Lucas V Bottom
Anyone think of any other potential raceboats?

Agree would be fantastic to see Hassan back racing in SBI, but I don't see how that will ever happen with their involvement in the competing OPGP series. Then again, OPGP does not seem to be attracting much brand name talent, so w/b interesting to see how they pan out.

Rich may be back for selected events but still has a lot on his plate.
The next problem we face is that other than a Nat championship which really hasn't carried any stature for this generation of racers. There really is no incentive to get the Unlimited fleet to attend all the events (at least 90%). It would be healthier for the sport/class if a team running two boats each took 4 separate events rather than both showing up for the same 4. Evens out the racing and gives the fans in "less popular venues" a chance to be a part of the rivalries and racing
Now if the sanctioning body created some type of advantage in the KW Worlds for boats/teams that raced all year this would incentivize teams to run the majority of events instantly. It would also clarify the viability of the class by default.
