I am the exact same way as long as money flow is there lol but yes when I am on something I work around the clock to get done, what's how I got nickname "Quickchange"

~300 a year for D truck plate
~300 a year for G trailer plate
~700 a year for boat insurance
~1000 a year for the dock
~initial boat cost and it's not even in the water yet
and on and on... I'm not missing a weekend. Period. I save and buy my parts ahead of time and come October it's project time. If it took me longer than October til May, chances are it wasn't going to be right no matter how long I took to do it. I also pick only one major project a year so I don't bite off more than I can chew.

The boating season is pretty short here in Michigan, so there's no way I'm missing much of the season. That being said, things need to be done right, or else you're going to bite it later. I'd actually rather pay a builder more just to put my project on the top of his list - allowing you to do it right in a reasonable time frame. A little more cash, I suppose, but it's not like go-fast boating is financially wise anyway, right!?

Yep why rush. No need too. Been building for almost 3 years no bills to pay on a boat and it will all be new.

It's like I hear an echo.... echo....

I'll be two years in April on the Eliminator, but it isn't hitting the water until it's 100% done. Who wants to just slam it together enough to run or float and then spend the whole summer tinkering with everything that you didn't finish or do right the first time.
My excuse:
When I have the money I don't have the time and when I have the time I don't have the money or it's fricking freezing in the shop!!
Plus paying cash as you go for everything is hard for most of us working class stiffs.
