This weekend is Floatopia at Peanut Island. I have a mint 1997 15 Boston Whaler (classic hull) that hasn't gotten wet in 3 years so I just had all the fluids, filters and impeller changed.....Yamaha guy even put it in the water and took it for a ride. He told me the 8 year old 4 stroke is as perfect as the day it was installed (only has 130 hours on it). He told me the boat was a hassle to have at the shop between employees and customers constantly asking about it, if it was for sale, is it a local boat, etc. These compliments are funny to me that an almost 20 year old 15 ft boat is like a conversation magnet!

So the shakedown run will be to Peanut Island:

I have a line on a local 2005 32 MCOB. It was the first Sunsation I had ever seen and I ended up meeting the owners at a waterfront restaurant a few months later. Boat is tired, terrible paint, junk 6.2's, on a yard trailer sitting in a storage lot but yet it has low hours......perfect for a redo! But after looking at the new 29 CC from Sunny and the price it would be hard to justify dumping big money into a 10-11 yr old 32 MCOB!

Doing it in a bass tracker doesn't count, Brooks!

I am being forced again to accompany my S.O. to Grenada to do a week on her cousin's 42 foot Lagoon catamaran sail boat in early April. Tough times, but bearable.

WARM GUYS---

"May you get a severe case of diarrhea and your legs fall asleep"!!!!!!!

Guys on the edge -- in the colder climates
Close your eyes
a) visualize your safe zone
b) feel the warm winds blowing across your face
c) hear the rumble of the exhaust
d) smile with confidence - and know that all the repairs done during the winter are perfect
e) feel your boat turn into the waves as you exit the harbor
f) touch the tab and trim buttons and adjust
g) grab the stick(s) and slowly bring the beast(s) to life
h) notice the response of the rpm and speed gages
since this really is a dream
I) see the fuel at the marina (or filling station) as you pull in the next harbor around $2.00/gallon

Ok take a deep breath -- exhale
It won't be long
and remember we waited a few weeks longer than our southern friends - but while they are having fun now - their boats are probably going to need repair much sooner than ours!!

BE SAFE
