I'm not 100% convinced that would work in real life!?
Your assuming a 1" drop in pitch could gain 500rpm and improve slip by 2%. Even with a little prop massaging I reckon it's a real big stretch using the current merc props. Not saying it's impossible, just unlikely.
As suggested earlier, a set of custom made props from herring could be a better option but expensive.
10% slip is actually pretty good when you take into consideration the sheer size of those verado gear cases. The 400's may act differently but most 350's I've driven seem to hit a wall at around 6500rpm.

so the skater in new jersey should blow this out of the water? they said they expected it to run 115? lets say the DCB runs 2 mph faster with different props it is getting close to the skater (or what is expected out of it) that is pretty cool for DCB

The Skater will be much faster. I have driven a 29 DCB with outboards and lot of Skaters and have to say I am not real impressed with the DCB hull. A 28 Skater with twin 300X is 121 mph. That Skater was setup well. The handling was far better on the Skater. Rough water ability is not even close. Honestly the DCB scared me at 105 mph with outboards running in choppy water with some wind. The appearance, fit and finish on the DCB is second to none and there is no porpoise. There, I said something nice about the boat.

That being said I would still love to own a DCB. They are amazing works of art that every DCB owner should be proud of. This 29 with outboards may be one of the nicest cats I have ever seen, I am in Love. Thats really what DCB is about, passion for the art and execution not just the top speed.

Hi,
The rpm seem low to get full power. If its been mine, I would get it up to 6,700 minimum. Maybe they gain a couple of extra mph and better accelleration. My Verado 350 Sci free's up around 6500, and its reccommended rpms are 6250-6800.

Standard 30 runs 100mpho on a good day with 300xs's. I would be no more than 110-112.
Also the motors weigh 160lbs or more each than an Opti. That is 320lbs more for 200hp.
