Yours looks like it will be higher than the in the picture because of the pipes and it might be too high. I would do over the teak really well.

I added one on the back of my boat years ago and it was a fantastic investment. Easier/safer to board (we always back in), along with plenty of room when we tie up (Lake of the Ozarks). The dogs enjoy having it, we keep our aqua mat tied up back there, and it gives additional cooler space if needed. It also keeps folks away from the props. I would do it again in a heartbeat. I agree that there is no resale addition, so mount it in a way that it could be removed and the holes repaired. You will not regret it.

You are here for a good time not for a long time! Look for a used platform teak or aluminum. OR GO ALL IN FOR NEW. You will like a one piece a lot better.

I took a full teakwood one off my boat and replaced with an aluminum one. Updated the looks, way cut down on maintenance, and just made the boat more user friendly.
NOW......having said all that, I cruised around Ebay for about 3-4 months and one popped up for $500. $100 shipping. I would look around a little and see if one comes up used.
Even at $1800, I'd probably pull the trigger. Nothing like having several gals sitting on your platform chilling and chatting while the guys are sipping suds in the lake!!!

well, looks like I'll be purchasing the platform. Great responses! The price seems high but it's including the shipping, non skid, and the ladder. the original teak right now is falling apart... I'll start removing all the old stuff this weekend and start filling in the holes and gelcoat. I appreciate the comments and I agree with what has been said. Cheers fellas!

If you plan on keeping the boat for another few years, I think that you and your fellow crewmates would be very happy swimming, getting into the boat, and just dangling your feet in the water with that type of platform. I have boated with some friends that had a boat with your current type of platform and appreciated my tubular style much more.:).......Just remember it is probably not going to help with resale, but if it makes your boating more enjoyable, then go for it!

I would not own a boat without one. When anchoring or beached, we climb up stairs or up k planes onto platform.
Ladies and hand feet in water when guys dont care as long as have beverage that makes it "seem" warmer. this = more boating time! Also more room on sundeck with platform.
We docking, gives your dockmate a non possible slipper surface to handle ropes etc.

Like I said, well worth it and wouldnt own a boat without one.
