thirdchildhood 03-31-2015 04:58 PM

No more salmon in Lake Huron. :(

Interceptor 03-31-2015 06:19 PM

I have a six pack license and did salmon charters

F-2 Speedy 03-31-2015 06:27 PM

Tuna = skanks, fresh water large mouth here in the Midwest, farm ponds are my fav, its like Gump said, you never know what ur gonna get. ........but off shore fishing is on the bucket list fo sho.

Dean Ferry 03-31-2015 06:35 PM

Yep, off the dock! :)

turbo2256b 03-31-2015 06:56 PM

I always wanted to reel in one of those 10K tunas

ballz2thewall 03-31-2015 07:48 PM

Hell yeah i fish right off my corsa all the time. . I caught an 8 ft sailfish down in cancun a few years ago on a charter. Weighed 100 lbs. Took about an hout to get it in the boat

On Time 03-31-2015 09:48 PM

Yes I do both on a regular basis! Widens my group of friends.

Comanche3Six 03-31-2015 09:52 PM

Some surf fishing, some boat fishing. It's relaxing.

caseyh 03-31-2015 09:54 PM

Do it all from kayak to off shore

Smarty 03-31-2015 10:23 PM

I think that is cool, racing cat, fishing in 64' Hatteras in tournament, that is great. I like fishing, never fished in a tournament like that...I would like to fish in the White Marlin Open- Cape May NJ ($500K prize), I think that would be something....My experience is limited to drift fishing for flounder, weak, sea bass, ect....I am willing to learn how to land a White Marlin, or a Shark in the Shark tournament in Cape May too

Good for Marc, hope his team wins fishing...he already knows to win at racing...

payuppsucker 04-01-2015 02:37 AM

Fish out of Venice, LA on a fairly regular basis. Been doing so for many years. Can't beat it for offshore IMO.

fordf350 04-01-2015 04:29 AM

Worked on a 52 footer out of Ocean City Md. for a couple summers as a kid to earn some money. Now we charter the boats for game fish. But still actively fish and crab the Chesapeake. Saturday and Sunday Go-Fast and Monday we might be fishing for stripers or as slow as the boat will go down the trotline for blue crabs. The Chesapeake is a great playground.

I love to fish for salmon and steelhead in and around the Great Lakes. In the fall I am in my tree stand bowhunting every available minute I can spare.

Quinlan 04-01-2015 05:47 AM

I am usually fishing for " another Cold ONE"!!!

mummaiv 04-01-2015 05:56 AM

Used to fish the canyons off OCMD a couple years ago when we had a center console. Always a good time !

Jonesyfxr 04-01-2015 06:36 AM

Smallmouth bass in the Niagara River does it for me!

Donziben 04-01-2015 11:41 AM

Fish all the time at LOTO. Try to charter a boat every vacation we get a chance. Love it!! I have a sailfish, African pompano and a barracuda on my wall. Hopefully more soon.

MissGeicoRacing 04-01-2015 11:44 AM

Wow, so we have some fishermen out there Salmon, Bass,Beers, Bikinis...lol. You northern guys have a ton of White Marlin/Tuna offshore in the summer. I always wanted to do a salmon/Halibut trip in the Pacific NW. Would be a challenge for sure. I know Chris Cox from Envy goes offshore to the canyons with his guys sometimes. Burgess from Hulk is out over here.

Surprised that more of our brethren are not out on the water with a fishing rod... especially here in South Florida. The CC's are fast as many offshore boats nowadays. Those that haven't tried it.. do yourselves a favor... find a friend that fishes and split some gas money and get out there. Try and get on a tournament boat one weekend. Stripers, Marlin whatever and let us know how you do. Exciting stuff.

Superheat 04-01-2015 06:31 PM

Mark, how are you? pretty soon.........I can't wait.

We run out to the hundred square all the time, thats a day trip for us. The 38' Jupiter eats it up! But thanks for reminding me that WINTER SUCKS!!! I miss boating!

Chris, Really happy with the Jupiter when it gets bumpy. I've been demo-ing some new props from Merc on the Yamis that has made a HUGE difference cruise and top end. Call me and I'll give you the details

Alright Hogie!! now you're talking. Looks like some good trips there.

frickstyle 04-02-2015 01:27 PM

Yes, very into sportfishing. A lot more challenging when you try on your own, definitely a learning curve.

Glad you posted this, just got back from Hollywood (Miami) fishing with my Dad and Sister. We stink at it, but had a lot of fun taking our own boat and learning to troll out in big water.

Nice fish Hogie!

Nice fish Hogie!

I'll be figuring it out on my own now too in the Jefferson marlago.

It's a long very expensive time consuming frustrating process trying to figure it out on your own. I would suggest finding a truly experienced friend or just hiring a mate for the day that knows the area. watch what and where he goes and try and duplicate. Start with bottom fishing or trolling then build on it.

The photo with the red grouper was a captain local to Madeira beach that was very good. We've fished key west a dozen times so I sure I hope I have a clue there.

looseconnection 04-02-2015 05:49 PM

We fish a lot in the GOM. I would love to share some pictures but i give up, uploader is not working for me at the moment...

Brad 04-02-2015 08:53 PM

Love fishing, trolling is my favorite. Hope to be tearing up Miami in a express fisherman this summer!

You and I are in the same boat so to speak. There is a specific boat or two for each hobby. It makes perfect sense to me and I love them all!

It would not allow me to upload. Until I shrunk the pixel size.

I agree with this one 100%. Before going on our own, we went with Miss Britt a handful of times. Would be good to hire one of them for the day and get an education, something I suggested multiple times....

It is expensive, besides standard boat costs, you have for one day (on your own boat):

Fuel, ice, bait, license, food, beer, etc. It all adds up. We figured our small catch to cost us a few hundred bucks each....

After coming in from a long day of going out 40 miles to fish and coming back with just a few keepers in the cooler my dad will say for all the money we could have gone to the finest restaurant and drank some fine wine for less.

But we had fun.

my dad loves to fish , I can take it or leave it but go out with him when he asks me to go.

Went out Saturday trolled for Kings and hooked quite a few than bottomed fish for Grouper and broke out the grill and had some shorts for lunch

iliveonanisland 04-10-2015 03:14 PM

does hooking the occasional skank count... my father has had a big sport fish for 25+ years, what an adrenaline rush backing down on a big marlin with all the crew and guest screaming and carrying on!
most dont know that a good sport fish will go almost as fast backwards as forwards... ive seen people about crap their pants when a monster wave comes over the transom and leaves 2 plus feet of water in the cockpit!

West 05-12-2015 02:07 PM

Okay now I want "go fast center console" for fishing.

Canuck B Crazy 05-12-2015 10:20 PM

Yes..... My father has a Boston Whaler 22 outrage. We mostly do salmon. But have done halibut. One of the advantages of being in the pacific northwest.

Hoping to see you in Bimini in three weeks buddy boy. Been a long time. I'm thinking after this trip Jeff will be buying a boat real soon.

If not in Bimini lets at least do dinner. I hope you gave up wearing those colored socks you used to wear. :)
