Drank a few beers with the Service manager at the dealership this weekend and talked about the new 6.0 diesel that they are coming out with. Sounds like it is gonna be a pretty impressive motor, camless design and better fuel effecency. Mid to late 03 but he said to wait for a year or so as not to be a ginney pig for the company! They upped the performance(more or less reprogrammed them like they were chipped)on the 7.4 in 02 they do have alot more power than the 01's!!!

I have an 02 F350 with the 525ft lbs torque....

So the "chip" wouldn't help me out at all?

I was starting to think about looking into them???

The motor in your 2003 is the same as the 2002 . It's 275 hp and 525 torque . MAde by Navistar( International) . The new motor will also be navistar and 325 hp and I forget torque but around 550+ on torque .This motor will not be out for a while yet. As for changes in the truck ?? I don't know . I was standing infront of 6 of them Sunday and didn't notice . Your 03 is the same as the 02's . They are much better then previous models but not as good as the (LATE) 03's claim to be .IF the motor coems out at all .
This motor was done for 4 years and never came out ! I was in LOiusville Kentuckey 1998 talking to the navistar rep at the truck show and I was leaning on the new motor while we were talking ! (IN 1998)! (In fact my picture was on the cover of 2 Trucking magazines with the rep and the new motor !) It makes me wonder why they keep mildly changing the 7.3 when they are sitting on this new 6 liter monster for 4 years .

As for chips .... I have sell them all ( almost ) Western diesel , Banks , ATS , BD, Superships, Diablo, Hypertech, etc. and all the other toys too !! Out of these ,I do have STRONG preferences . ANy quesions e-mail me at [email protected]

I wouldn't hold my breath on chips for the new motor yet as it's not out yet . And who knows when it will ......

seems like the tourq is the same on both motors ,but ford down on hp, i dontthink this would make that much diff. in towing?the duro max said comes with 3.73 gears ford 4.11. the 6.5 gmc that i have know is a 4.10 and at 75-80 mph seems tack up a little on rpm. wonder if it can pull the 3.73?not sure if want a frist year motor on the ford late 2003?

what price have yall seen on these trucks 4 dr dullie loaded automatic.??? havent seen any 2002 duromax left here.still a lot fords left.

East coast B, The chips make "X" amount of power over stock .No matter what stock is . You can get 50 - 150 hp gain and 150-350 torque gain depending on the package . Also gain 1-4mpg depending on package . I recomend a 50-75 hp gain. for most . The others are extreme !

ROB S. I pull 26,000 lbs with my ford 3.73's but have a manual trans . Runs soooooooo good ! Runs 75-85mph comfortable on cruise !! (will do alot more ) !

I just did A major comparison between 2 ford's 2 chevy's and 2 dodges . Same load , steep grade about 2 miles at high way speeds . 2000 ford topped it at 60, 2002 ford topped it at about 66-67 , 2001 chevy did 55 , 2002 chevy did 58.

The 1998 dodge did 45 and the 2002 dodge did 55 ..........

That's some hard facts there ........ These trucks were all stock .(pre chip) chevys and fords were single wheel crew cabs , 1998 dodge is dually super cab, 2002 dodge is single wheel single cab .
