If only I was in the market....

That is one sweet boat.

mike tkach 04-15-2015 10:04 PM

ApachePete 04-15-2015 11:10 PM

Wonderful memories!

Not as clean and needs some TLC, but Jester in the classifieds at $65K OBO seems like a good deal.

I have been aboard that 41.....boat is tired. Owner is a long time Apache owner (also owns the 47 in classifieds) as well as another 41 and a 46 Skater. Jester was his "daily driver" and it needs a lot of elbow grease!

Nate5.0 04-16-2015 07:13 AM

The purple 36 with big power can still be had for a great price. It's no 41 but it is still stout

DO IT! Do you still have your boat or did it sell?

I still have mine. Will probably keep it forever with the prices the Cafes are going for. I think I'll wait for Clifford to pop up for Sale. Although Allez Vite is an AWESOME Apache.

frickstyle 04-16-2015 08:37 AM

Yes, Clifford would be the one to hold out for. Keep saving your quarters, that was a sweet buy when it sold. Allez Vite would be cool to have for the history, couldn't go wrong either way.

Clifford for sure is an incredible boat and great looking no doubt... BUT it's not an APACHE especially Allez Vite which it has has endless lines, setup and much more. It has second to none history and it is what its is APACHE.

I totally agree.

Ryan Beckley 04-16-2015 08:51 AM

Allez Vite, "Go Fast" IMO is the fastest raceboat ever built. It was the last APACHE to give the open class a run for there money. Int the OPT days they ran up front in the bump.

I just talked to Dean, he said the power is completely fresh. Awesome.

Looks like it's been listed for a few days and 0 bids, what makes you think that the bids will start soon? Because it's at the end of the auction?

thisistank 04-16-2015 03:58 PM

I KNOW I'll take crap for this but there's this thing about purchasing big ticket items done of you may have heard, it goes: never buy emmotionally or "with your heart".

I have to say, I love apaches as much as the next guy but quite frankly, they're overpriced. 26 year old ex race boat? I'll take a 16 year old non race tiger for half the cash. Most would consider being beat to death on the race course a bad thing. ;)

You guys are nostalgic and love the mystic of apache (as do I). But it's not that shocking no one has bid on it. The market is tiny and takes a fanatic that'll justify the price when compared to equal(ish) boats. Plus most of the fanatics either A) can't buy it because it's too much or B) already own an apache.

Sorry. Just devils advocate.

I'd still love to own it.

tim mccray 04-16-2015 04:04 PM

Awesome boats but I agree, has to be someone really into them and not care about the age of the boat to drop that kind of coin. There are a lot of newer boats you can get for that price, actually for less. Not sure why these always go up for sale with big price tags, they don't ever seem to sell, you'd think that would be a hint.

hogie roll 04-16-2015 04:30 PM

Part of me agrees. But the youtubes have made this boat pretty famous too. The late model chief seems like a deal.

This is my first post to offshore only but I just had to respond. I live in muskegon michigan and have seen this boat run, it is magnificent. If I could buy it I would but unfortunately I'm just a dreamer. I think the reason these boats get the price tags they do is because they are rare and it is about buying a piece of history. Dont get me wrong the outerlimits, cigarettes, Donzis and fountains are great but everyone can get one and they all kinda of look a like. The few Apaches out there all have unique histories and unique paint jobs. I dont think I've ever heard an Apache owner regret their purchase. These boats are rugged in big water and are fast without the steps. They have stood the test of time. I hope whoever gets this boat loves it and appreciates it, maybe if I'm lucky it will be someone from west michigan so I can continue to see her out on the water. I have a feeling if it sells it wont be for sale for a long time again but who knows maybe by then I can afford her.

Not sure a 16 yr old Tiger will be "half the cash" :D

tim mccray 04-16-2015 07:42 PM

That much for a 1999 huh? Good, hope they get it. I'm listing a 2003 Top Gun Lipship edition this weekend or Monday. For just a little more money someone can have an 03 with recently rebuilt 750's, newer interior and new IMCO SCX drives. Like I said, just a few more bucks.. :)

Hahah. You may have found the highest priced 99 gun on the market! Lol.
But yes my half price was an exageration.

delsol 04-16-2015 09:40 PM

IMO

A tiger and Allez Vite are not comparable....

As far as price--- start pricing things out to put a boat of that caliber together...

Then take a twin step gun out in lake Michigan and try to keep up with Allez Vite.... There would be bravo based parts in a pile, and possibly some fibreglass.

Don't get me wrong, I like new boats also, but I respect boats like Allez Vite for the machines they are---

Totally agree...can't compare them at all...

iliveonanisland 04-16-2015 09:57 PM

the set up on allez vite is probably worth 25k... that boat is dialed the f in...

tim mccray 04-16-2015 10:12 PM

If I priced that old boat out it wouldn't come out to 120k. The parts aren't even worth that. They don't even make that stuff any more, wet sumps? What year did they stop making those boats? You start talking about a Tiger then you want to take a Top Gun out on lake Michigan to go up against the Apache? Don't see the point. Or did you mean to say put the Tiger up against it?

J-Bonz 04-16-2015 10:12 PM

Steve's boat is awesome! To be honest I hope it doesn't sell. That just means I have more time to buy it.... :)
