LOTO: Winterizing your boat for the cold days to come.
 

Uh......it may be time to start thinking about that LOTO people.

I know. :mad: It seems that summer just started, and the 90-120 days of boating you guys get seems to have just slipped away, but facts are facts. Winter is on the way. Surrender.

While our water temperature is warmer than your air temperature, we'll be keeping any eye on the oil temperature of the motors, and spreading the suntan oil on the local hard bodies in Havasu and the Pacific. Since you'll be filling the block with antifreeze for the coming cold, we'll be filling the ice chest with frozen ice blocks in an effort to keep the frosty beverages cold.

go ahead rub it in, it still feels like summer today though its 93deg. So what if the leaves are turning color untill the lake freezes over we can still boat. Or in Boatheads case he just drives around the icebergs:D

Winterize?? What the Hell is that??? LOL Look when the leaves fall off the Trees, and Birds fly south Nature is giving like a small Hint,of bad things to come.

I got a jump start on things and winterized my boat today....Took me about 10 seconds to complete the job: Throw a long sleeve T Shirt in the cabin in case it gets cold on a run to the Yardhouse...:D:D:D

The one good thing about winter up here is that it gives us time to do the things to the boat that we want to do. You won't here us wining about the boat being broke down in January. We will be excited about the new motor that we just built and talking about the dyno # and dreaming about the next summer. Wishing for summer just makes the summer that much better when it gets here. I can't wait to start TINKERING.

Seriously....I wouldn't even know where to begin to "winterize"!

No complaints here. I actually like Winter. Not much fun celebrating Christmas without snow.

You West coast guys can keep the Earthquakes, Smog, Overly crowded living, lack of land space and overly priced cost of living :eek: :p :) I will take the change of seasons and winterizing my boat any day. :D

I'll winterize my parents boat (I use it for a 17' weed wacker around my dock) soon. I'll be boating for another month and a half. Thats why Sonic sells leather jackets!!! And theres plenty of tinkering planned during the winter lay up.

I don't know about you guys but I am usually out in early to mid March and I don't winterize until mid November. It is a little cooler at those times but i'm still boating, plus you don't go through as much ice

The wife likes the time off so I can do things around the house. Last year new family room, this year a new kitchen it gives me four months to get it done;) .

Plus we have friends that live in AZ and we will be out there in Jan or Feb.:D :D :D

Just picked up my new RX-1 snowmobile yesterday ! To bad you west coast & southern boys won't be able to experience blasting across the lakes at 120 mph on one of these ! It's quite a thrill ! And when spring rolls around we pull the boat back out and you get that same feeling all over again that you had when you put your boat in the water for the very first time. We got toys for all seasons up here.

Let us know how you like the sled! It's suppose to have quite a kick a$$ 4 stroke. Read some test runs on protos were in the 130 + range. There reving it to 10,200! Should be a heluva sled!:D

Maybe for those fair weather types! I was only winterized for three months last year. Dec-Mar :D

You "fair weather" guys have no idea what snow is. To us, it's just another medium to conquer!

When winter comes I let the big twins take a much needed nap and break out the little twins.:D :D

I don't even know what those things are but they look Bad Ass!! I throw a desert party in Feb. every year and last year there was just enough snow to make the trails slick and muddy for the quads,Big fun! My boat lives inside the insulated garage so I'm prety safe if it ever did get cold!

Here in BF Central Ohio it stays too cold to boat and we never get enough fu#king snow to break out the sleds just cold no snow:mad: :mad: you southern and westerners are missin out, you havent lived until you have ripped across an open snow covered field going 120mph on a snowmobile:D :D

Troutly, I'm gonna ignore you here. Not sure why you guys think we miss out on snowmobiling. That's the beauty around these parts. Everything is here! Just 1/2 hour to the ocean and 2 hours from the mountian sking.

That's why you guys don't have as much fun on the holiday weekends, you don't appreciate them. We play so hard during the summer months that we need a brake. Then, watch out Memorial Day!

And what time of the day would that be??? Would it be at 2:00am or 3:00am? I know that for the most part your trip down the 405 is pure HELL!!!!! Oh ya you do not do that durring the week :D:D

Oh ya I did 120+ miles of boating yesterday so we carry the... divide by...... multiply by Pie R Squared and we get about 4 weeks for you to go that far :D:D Oh and I did not get wet at all. KEEP THE TABS UP IN A TRAILING SEA!!!!! :D:D:eek: :eek:
