I ate there Saturday with my kids and asked about the vacant marina......hence the thread!

We had 1 1/2 lbs of peel and eat, basket of fries and a cracked conch! I live 60 miles from there (each way) and hadn't eaten there in a while so we took the ride.

----Ilive,,,,I guess that's just showing my age as the Southport was "Ted Twists bar" prior. That was way back in the late 60s, early 70s. Ted didn't think he was doing well and wanted a spot on "US1" so he sold to the two northerners that still own the Southport today. His trip out to US1 didn't go well as that bar only lasted a short time, and the Southport is a goldmine by any ones standards.

I remember Ted Twists. My Dad worked at the Old Everglades Marina back in 1973, and my Grandparents had a condo across the street from the 15th st ramp. My uncle had a condo directly west of the ramp, across the canal from Ocean World. We used to stand on his veranda and bow the the crowds were cheering for the show LOL I still have some booty from a party at Ted Twists. The St.Pauli girls made a HUGE impression on me!!
