As a warlock owner the drives I had best luck with, with big power were bravo x diesel drives.

If you buy a used one it didn't see extended periods of 6000 rpm abuse.

It's not the RPMs that kill the drive, it is torque and shock load. To my knowledge the drive is not constructed any different....wondering how they are magically stronger?

I wish someone would prove or disprove this . I have a diesel drive on my boat and was always told they have stronger gears to handle the torque of a diesel . Why would Merc specifically label the drive as Diesel if there were no difference ?

I thought it was all in the gearing. If so wouldn't everyone just buy those.
Btw how is the build coming?

So I just ordered the X Mod phase four as a replacement. I have heard good things about All American Drives and George seems to be a straight shooter. I will let you know how it turns out.
