Hey boys...we are overdue....Yardhouse run this Saturday, Sep. 14th. Meet at the Newport breakwater entrance at 10:30 or meet at the restaurant at 11:15. The hurricanes down in Mexico are making some really nice swells...some good hang time last weekend!!!

Oh sure,it has to be this weekend doesn't it.One week before I leave Toronto and head to cali for a 9 day vacation.I chatted with Tank a while back and he thought a scope run was scheduled for around the time I would be out there,guess my dam convention was scheduled one week late:( I checked out SCOPE's web site and dam,you folks have some nasty pieces of fiberglass out there.Wish I could have seen a group of them all together.Oh well,what ya gonna do?
I hope I can still manage to meet some of you guys while I'm out there.
Please let me know if theres a local watering hole where we can meet for a cold one or two sometime during the week of the 20th to the 29th.

Depends if Gordy can fix the boat this week or not. I had the lash checked yesterday and found a broken valve spring. I feel lucky to have found it - could have been a disaster $$$.

Well everyone....we had an excellent time on Saturday!!! We faced some early morning fog but around 11, it cleared up and had some awesome weather. The water going home was hot....a little on the snotty side, but callm enough to let the dogs air out....real fast water....perfect. We had 10 boats show up at the Yardhouse....just a perfect day and nobody broke!!!!

Let me say this:

95 mph with rx glasses on = Not Cool(glasses melding with eyeball)
95 mph in Boardgods T/S F2 Top Gun = Very Cool

90 mph / backseat of Tiger / snotty water = Not Cool(arms & hands very tired)
90 mph / backseat of Tiger / snotty water / dicing it up with Dman = Very Cool

Let's do it again this week. But this time in my own boat(running a lot slower than 95 mph) :rolleyes:

Sat was a fun time...With all of the fog in the morning it was nice to have Dman and Jeffrey to follow up to Long Beach. The ride back was fun in my 29, we stayed dry most of the way except for a couple of times.:rolleyes:

G, are you heading out again this weekend? I think I can go on Sun. (running much slower than you in your cafe:D)

If my boat is ready ... I'll be there. I'm planning to take OSO member Airpacker, from Canada, out for a Saturday run on the big pond.

Last time I was out we had that hurricane in Mexico and 12 foot swells!!!! It was so awesome out there - big smooth mountains of water!

I'm planning to take some people that my wife works with out on our boat on Sun from Dana Point...Possibly heading up to Newport or Long Beach depending on what the water is like. I have a "to do" list for Sat that will keep me off the water.

I was going to take Airpacker on Sunday, but several boats sound like fun. How do I get there from San Diego? What time are you meeting? How long will it take to get there assuming I get to Oceanside in an hour? Where do I launch (from the trailer, not launch off the waves:cool:? Can somebody meet me there and help launch and show me the way to Yardhouse? Maybe kwb will volunteer.

Tom ... it would be perfect if you could trailer up to Newport Beach and launch(from the trailer)with me at Newport Dunes.

I figure to launch about 8:00, putt over to the drystack then run up to Long Beach around 10:30.

Newport Dunes is about an hour north of Oceanside, a few miles past the El Toro-Y(Irvine Spectrum), taking the 405 split to Jamboree. Left-south on Jamboree about 3-4 miles to Bayside Dr at the Hayatt Newporter. Right on Bayside and you are there.

Have fun on Sat guys, I won't be able to make it this week. If anybody is going to be around on Sun it looks like we're going to head out from Dana Point and go to either Newport or Long Beach, probably launching in Dana Point around 9:30 or so..

If you want to meet up with those guys on Sat, you could probably launch in Dana Point sometime around 9:45 or so and then make it to the breakwater in Newport by 10:30..I think it's about 12 miles or so from Dana Point to Newport.

Hey G....Plans have changed!!!! I am available to go boating on Saturday!!!!! Didn't think I would be on the water this weekend but now it looks pretty good!!! I will see you out there, especially if you are putting by the dry slip.
