7.13 in the 1/4. 410 SBC N/A in s10 truck that was about 8-10 years ago. So, no the car isn't impressive. It's slow.

I have a 68 z 28 cross ram with factory headers and the cam card suggested shifting at 5,200-8,400 rpm. the car doesn't stop pulling at high rpm, it just wants to keep on going. if gm is telling you 8400 then im sure there is a safety factory built in there. i wouldn't doubt for one minute that motor will run over 10,000 rpm.

Well if the OP would of come back with a Dyno chart we wouldn't have had to trash the place! I think it went bad after the photo of Brandon eating popcorn but it may have started a little before that.........

wish i could but i cant post pics here. it's a yellow with black stripes rs car, pre z 28 badge. the early ones only said 302 down in the front quarter. this car was a test mule for gm and its cross ram manifold. it has one of the 5 gm test manifolds with devcon wiring in it instead of the an actual cast manifold. it also has the test carbs that are 585's instead of the 600's that were used on the other 200ish manifolds. i'm told the headers are 1 of 22 sets produced for the cross ram.

I'm willing to bet he wasn't at the hp numbers he wanted ot expected. I'm running 10.4:1 in my motor that is close to his build and the machine shop is only estimating it at 550-600 hp. He was probably right around 500.

BlackedOut, see what happens when you keep the peanut (er, popcorn) gallery waiting too long here on OSO? Your thread gets hijacked and takes on a life of its own. I know all too well! ;)
Hope your dyno session went well and you have been too busy ripping up the water to reply.:boat: |
