Interesting read, so who is running a 5W30 in their boat motor?, might try the M1 5W30, and see how the pressure holds up. Technology moves on and maybe what we took as a given no longer is true.

FWIW...
I run 5w40 M1 Turbo Diesel Truck in my blown 540. I like the lighter weight when cold, and my cold idle is 50ish, with warm idle at 35. Warm running is 65 at 2500 RPM and goes up to high 70s at RPMs above 2500. So far so good...I buy it when Napa has a sale for $6/qt. Doesn't rate good on this guys' list, so guess I need to add Prolong...?
