Congrats, really sharpe. I bought my boat last year from Canada. I hired and agent who handled all the paper so when the carrier went through the border crossing, he just needed to get the paperwork stamped. The agent makes sure everything is in order. The process was seamless and the best $1,500 I've spent. Only takes I paid were in Michigan.

I'm not sure what taxes people are talking about when bringing a boat from Canada to the US, if the boat was built in US there should be nothing more than your state sales tax when registering it. I have never used a broker to bring a boat into the US, the last boat I delivered to New York didn't even require a piece of paper as it did not have engines in it....It is actually a simple process as long as you don't get the wrong border person that wants to make up a new rule that day....
