your opinion on mercruiser 600 sci

My 2006 388 has them, I have 130 hours on my 600/XR's, no problems so far, my 600 SCi's require 91 octane, ( I run 91 non-ethanol in them) Great engines, start every time, idle great, provide great power.

I would agree that if you could find the 90 or 91 non-corn infused gas, that'd be the best route.

Bravo XR Sport shorties lasted 100 hours behind 600's in a Sunny F-4 (11,000 lb) before owner traded it.
Great motors. Love the whine! Can turn up to 700's.
Edit: I would double check the manual for whatever year motors they are. Merc may have changed fuel requirements over the years. I can't remember what we used to put in the F-4. Let me double check with the owner. For some reason I thought we ran more than 87 octane.
