Scarab Molds
Way cool, I wonder the price of the big molds?
cool, gonna need a bit of a re fresh tho . . . . no UV inhibitors in tooling gel and that Fla sun ain nothin nice
33 AVS would be a great mold to bring back to life
Dave, i'll buy the HST mold if you'll make me one.
I'm in! lol . . . . . which one is the HST :D . . . . tell ya what tho the 33AVS would be a good one to have. Wonder what they want for that mold. . . .
The Scarab 302 CC mold may be the very first performance CC out there. Waaaay ahead of its time given what I saw at the Miami Boat Show this year...
problem is that all of that tooling has been moved around with forklifts for years and is bent up bad. and you cant use the name scarab. I have all of the original larry smith Team Scarab hulls and flat deck molds from 26 to 51 but there again I cant call them Scarab. Wellcraft sold the trade mark that's why its on little jet boats

and what sucks is I built the last 5 or 6 Scarab race boats but cant use the name.
Recboat Holdings owns the name that's what Larry told me. They offered to let us use it for a percentage of each boat .
SKARAB.. Problem solved. lol. I would love to do an AVS or Larry hull.
can build you what ever you would like all of the team Scarab molds are now stepped.

New 302 CCs would probably sell, people love them. That's essentially what renegade, concept and others are selling. |
We can say built by Team Scarab but cant call them Scarabs
John owns them from lightning powerboats in Sarasota. He has them with prices on boat design.net under molds for. Sale. They aren't cheap and beat up. I believe he said the thing to do is make an insert from 33 AVS mold and insert it into the 38 bottom.

I have always wondered how fast the P29 would be with a stepped hull?
Correct - Rec Boat Holdings owns the name for Scarab and use it for Jet boat builds that came from the Sea Doo jet boat molds as they brought to market because Sea Doo decided to get out the boat business due to declining sales a couple of years ago.
Rec Boat Holdings also owns Four Winns, Glastron, and Wellcraft brands. They bought these companies when Genmar who went bankrupt about 4 or 5 years ago. Genmar owned about 10 to 15 boat companies at that timeframe. The President for RBH is Roch Lambert who has been the Marine Industry for many years, Anyways just an FYI |

I think a new KV 38 staggerd with a 6 pack would be a sick PR boat. Kinda like penzoil. |
Larry has never built in Santa Barbra he built in Ventura for a while but that was a long time ago. We built everything down here in the OC for the past almost 20 years.
And we can build a new 38 Flat deck twin step staggered 6 pack boat no problem. Just need $$$$$$ and about 3 months

well, if help is that cheap down there it would definitely make sense to build boats down there. Whats involved in getting them into the states?
They float don't they. Stick a South American in it and send them north. If they make it you get a boat and a day laborer.
