Always been the 'boat' to me/us.

It's fiberglass, wood, vinyl, and metal.

Nothing more, nothing less.

Give a boat a name, refer to it as a she,,,,,,you f*ked yourself. You gave it a personality. Last thing you ever want to do.

You can with a boat.

My boat is a 'he'.
From they day I purchased him, he has never let me down. Goes when I turn they keys, loves to go fast, quite likes the rough, happy to go out with my mates when I need a break, loves a drink and never tells a sole if I take a group of girls out when the boss is not around.

I have so much in common with my boat, it MUST be a guy.

lol. I didn't know there was somewhat of a myth or folklore to it.

I guess if you were brought up around boats, grew up on/near the water, the 'she' reference was probably handed down to you through family and generations.

My main passion is motorcycles and racing, traveling the country in doing so. I have a dozen bikes worth over low 6 figure range that you guys have in a single boat, but they get no affectionate name calling. I ring their necks and throw them down the asphalt at 180 +.

Hummm, kind of common thing between the two!

When you first get 'her'
You love 'her'
'She' is the greatest thing
everyone wants what you have with 'her'
'She gets used all the time!
you take care of 'her'
you admire 'her'
you show 'her' off to all your friends
you do not care what the cost of maintaining 'her' is
You feel you have the best 'her' you can get
You just adore 'her'

Now, over the course of time of having 'her'
You no longer use 'her' as much or often
'She' tends to just sit around and get ignored
'She' tends to want more and more attention, and causes issues when not getting it
friends are tired of supporting your obsession with 'her'
'her' maintenance cost are starting to get out of control
'her' monthly upkeep is even more expensive then when she was younger or new
And the cost of getting rid of 'her' is more then just keeping her around.
But once 'she' is gone, some think its the happiest day of their life!

Hope this clarifies why Boats are 'She' or 'Her'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
