Family moving to Atlanta Ga. and we may want to follow them in the next year or so, would like to look for a location by Lake Lanier to move to eventually.

For now, we want and idea of where to stay for a week or 4-5 days to boat a couple times, so we can get a feel for the area and lake.

Looking for some help on where and what choices we might have that would be best, resorts, lodges or whatever with docking.

lake lanier islands has a hotel and also condos or houses that you can rent. it is the home base for the pirates of lanier poker run. they have everything you could need.

Let me know if you do end up in Lanier. I have two docks on the Lake on some old family property and have grown up there. We're up on the far North side if you ever want to do some cruising to the lesser seen side of the water.
