Arriving Thursday evening, staying w/ friends that have a home on the water but reserved dock space just to be able to boat back & forth if we want to.

Last I saw there were just a few slips left, all on A dock. If those are gone you can try to get the houseboat slips at the place next door, two boats will fit per slip.

The latest email blast:

Ahoy Ye Pirates and Wenches,

The Pirates of Lanier Charity Poker Run is looming close and we are full throttle planning the best ever three-day weekend.

Apparently you guys and gals think so too, as we have 182 Captains signed up, rooms reserved and slips rented. Last year we had 301 entries and those procrastinators joined our ranks at the last minute. We wanted to send out this update to urge anyone interested in participating in the most fun weekend on Lake Lanier all Summer, do so quickly.

We just returned from the Texas Outlaw Challenge Poker Run South of Houston and it’s true, they do it BIG in Texas. We had a great time with all of our comrades at the second largest Poker run in the country. Many in attendance said they are about to sign up for Pirates of Lanier Charity Poker Run, not only the largest but confirmed as the “Top Charitable Poker Run in America”. So wait no longer, sign up now and help us reach our goal of over $400,000 benefiting thousands of kids in need.

As of today we only have 13 slips left on A Dock in Sunset Cove for the full three days, July 16-18. So especially for you out of towners log on now to www.piratesoflanier.com, sign up and you will receive a return email with all the details for reserving hotel and slips.

Legacy Lodge Hotel has added more rooms to our room block and extended the date they open up the remaining rooms to the public until July 1st, but don’t wait because the remaining 13 slips will be gone this week.

If you miss out on renting a slip a Sunset Cove, we do have two other options. On Lanier Islands property, walking distance to Sunset Cove is Harbor Landing Marina. Harbor Landing has 14 houseboat size slips with water and power that will fit at least two boats in each slip. I think they want $75 per slip. Also Holiday Marina near the entrance of Lanier Islands does have a limited amount of covered slips. (You would need to call Holiday Marina yourself at 770-945-7201)

As noted before, Our previous Email Blasts along with this one, are posted on our website under 2015 event.

On the website we do have a helpful FAQ’s page that will hopefully answer many of your questions.

And another heartfelt thank you to all of our past attendees and our first timers.
