Default 30 days to go Don Aronow Around Long Island Marathon

We are down to the last 30 days to prepare for the Don Aronow Around Long Island Marathon Race.

Have you entered? Are you planning on entering?

As an added incentive, HORBA is providing all race entrants signed up by August 1st, with the New 10 Year Anniversary Tee Shirt.

RECENT NEWS

It looks like the team of Joe Sgro and Joe Cibellis, past winners of the 2011 Around Long Island Race, are teaming up again. However, this time they are using the 43 foot Outerlimits deep vee world speed record holder, for the defense of their record.

We are very pleased to welcome the famous race boat WARPATH. This boat, a 42 foot Chief, recently competed in England at the Cowes race and won one of the support races. Ilmors and Arneson drives.

Chris LaMorte will have his new engines from Innovation Marine to power his entry.

Another returning winner is Joe Defusco with his 30 foot Sonic...which we hear is a lot lighter these days.

A new Outerlimits owner with a 52 footer is coming.

We will post updates as we get closer.

Just heard from another team who is working very long nights to make the race.

How about Team Archer on the West Coast.....are you guys still coming with those great Gentry boats?

How about Team Saris, from Lake George, racing with the spirit of Keith Hazell on board.

The new Sonic challenger from Rhode Island with big blocks, challenging the former winner with small blocks. Or the new 42 foot Hypersonic, almost 115 MPH in initial tests.

How about the Sutphen boys from Connecticut......Christian Gott, let's hear from you with 30 days to go.

Dr Gabe and the Outerlimits that challenged the two Joes' in the last race, this could be your year.

Here is your opportunity to join some colorful characters.

Left to Right....... below winners from three different boats, three different years. Alan Brown (Brownie), Odell Lewis and Charlie McCarthy

Thanks again to Jay Nichols who took a photo of the winning boat going through Plum Gut in 2010 and created this nice tribute.

Beautiful shot of Chris LaMorte's Skater.

If the water is calm this year, will this boat beat out the Outerlimits record holder or the WARPATH?

Peter, no problem, I understand. Just keep it on your bucket list.

Thanks for all your support as we have been developing this and the other races we have done in the past.
