Default mechanical advantage (hydraulic steering)

when the cylinders are mounted on the transom it looks like they would have an advantage (or would suffer less wear and tear)
versus the cylinders mounted on stand off boxes, or the its transom.

just looking at it in terms of leverage.

opinions or hard data !
