The "new video" footage is a waste of time. It is all from this site: http://www.evsjupiter.com/
Still photos are taken every few minutes and video like once an hour.
What would be more interesting is finding debris from the capsized boat. If the boat flipped over just outside of the inlet then the fishing poles, anchor (assuming it was loose), knives, gaff, boat tools/parts would have landed on the bottom of the ocean in 25-40 ft of water. There is a huge treasure hunting boat that anchors on three pilings right on the south side of that inlet (boat puts down the 3 pilings and lifts 80+ ft boat out of the water). If that boat spent a couple days scanning the ocean floor it probably could get a read on stuff, after all it spent weeks looking for gold coins which are smaller.
My gut feeling on the situation. Kids got dumped just outside the inlet (1/2 mile or so). They figured since they could see land that they could easily swim for it forgoing life jackets/cooler/hanging on to the boat and lost their lives trying to swim against the current that pulled them out to sea.

That happened months ago and it was also repeated on one of the National newses last night .
They found the abandoned boat but it was lost again before the company hired to retrieve it could get to it.

From the Fox report .... * The Coast Guard initially located the boat off New Smyrna Beach, but the company hired by the Coast Guard to bring the boat back couldn't find it. *

Couldn't they call the local authorities? If it were me, I would be all over it.
At one point wasnt it seen as far north as Cape Hattaras?

I'm not sure what you mean when you say
'Couldn't they call the local authorities? If it were me, I would be all over it.'
It must have been awful though for the families to go through seeing the boat found and then lost again .

I don't get it. Two 14 year olds missing and they didn't secure the boat when they first found it? We are not talking about someone's lost dingy. To depend on Tow Boat to get it was a joke and incompetence. Not saying they (the CG) should have brought the boat back but you would think they would have someone board it and see if there was any clues to what happened.

I would blame the CG for leaving it for another boat to tow in. CG would waste a few hours towing it in. Not much evidence onboard unless the empty boat could speak. I fished a lot when a kid, even by myself or with friends at 13/14. A boat like theirs, wouldn't take much to swamp it, especially if they lost the engine. Its tragic, but the parents shouldn't have let them go out as far as they did. I was on the ocean as a kid, but I had limits to areas the chop was very small on average, more like a small lake.

They never even looked in the boat. That's what I'm talking about being incompetence. These were 2 missing kids and they found the boat but it wasn't worth securing until they could get it towed in? If they found a car of 2 missing kids they wouldn't leave it on the side of the road for someone to come back and find later. Who knows what those kids were up to. What if they were kidnapped and there was signs of a struggle. What wasn't in the boat? How much gas was left being they bought extra? Maybe the cell phone had a clue. They are going to look pretty stupid if on the phone was their whole plan (good or bad) or maybe some gps info showing exactly where they were the first day or so.
