My kid is only 4 and I cant even fathom what these poor people are going through. God bless them. Just hearing about it devastates me, everyone is talking about it around here...

Any large body of water is very unforgiving. Venturing out in it with the wrong boat and not having the experience to deal with the fast changing weather or emergencies will cost you your life in a hurry.

90 percent of the non alcohol related boating fatalities that happen in a large body of water occur from people venturing out into conditions that are already deteriorated and than not having the proper boat or safety equipment to deal with the situation.

I could not agree more, the ocean is nothing that should be taken for granted. It amazes me how many ill fitted boats we see going out into the ocean down here.

The boat these kids were in was a 19' SeaCraft, and I read a post from someone that had experience with them that said with the engine mounted there is only 10" on the transom that is above the water line. This with eyewitness accounts that seen the boys heading out while they were heading in to avoid approaching storms.

I was really hoping to hear that they were found this morning. I could not imagine going through this as a parent as I also have two young boys that live for the water. All of the support they are getting from the community and from complete strangers across the country is really heartwarming to say the least. Praying every minute for a miracle.
