Mines a '98 & I'm just starting to think about re freshening over the winter, I know McLeod Design just re opened under new management, I'd like to hear about any recent work before going that route.. otherwise XT is where I'm heading when boating season is done

Not sure where you are located at -- I had Detroit stitching do mine in 2011, located in South Rockwood. He did the engine cover, bench and captains chairs for $1250. Less than 1/2 other places, and better work. http://detroitstitchingcompany.com/ this really is one of S.E. Michigan's best secrets.

I've seen lots of good looking vinyl look like sh!t because they skimped on the "stuffing", not a problem here.

I'm just looking to add some color. All the white with a few hints of black are getting boring. My laser graphics are red, orange and black so I'm looking to incorporate more red. My cabin carpet is grey with all white upholstery. Looking to do the same there.

BBC could you PM me a few pics of your interior?

Thanks for the leads so far, they all look like they do fantastic work. Straight stitching and no waves in the material.

What you expect to pay in labor? (McCleod's labor to cut and sew the skins)
15 hours @ $100/hour & another $1000 in materials; burying overhead (lights, rent, etc.), and a little profit...
I don't call that outrageous.

I thought it was a lot considering the install was going to be "the heavy lifting"......I also think the $100 an hour to run a sewing machine seems high :D

The boat had a white base interior but with pink AND purple accents!

I sure will -- I have them at home, I will get them posted to photobucket and linked here tonight when I have some time this evening. I thought I took a risk going with an "unknown" marine guy in the area. Turns out this guy has a serious operation. Hell, he had an intern working for him that was studying business when I had mine done. Paying thousands of dollars seemed like a total waste on a relatively inexpensive boat like mine and I couldn't be happier. I stuck with just two colors, with white being the main one as i was sick of burning myself, even a light color makes a HUGE difference over white for temperature in the sun which was more than I expected. I'll take a look, I may have some pictures on photobucket here, just not of all of the pieces installed together.

Edit. I did the stuff in two steps -- the bench followed by the captains chairs and engine cover the next spring. In the video you can see the bench installed without the rest. I rebuilt the bench as it was rotted out. When you see the finished pictures it's much more impressive, but this is what I have handy.

Here are partial pics of the rest. I'll get a "complete" shot when I get home to post. I also got rid of anywhere there was grey and replaced it with white or color.

If you are in Northern Michigan, Barrett's in Traverse City does great work. Paul is a stand up guy and will stand behind his work.
