Goodwin-Powered Outerlimits Upgraded with New Chartplotter, Engine Monitoring System

Northern Michigan's Peter Oppermann pulled off this cool project to be able to read data from his custom Goodwin engines on the new chartplotter he installed in his Outerlimits V-bottom.

What would it take for carbed blower motors?

Any electronic guage you have on your dash can be converted from analog to digital. The noland will do 6 gauges plus 2 tachs. If you want more than 6 just buy 2 units

You can also run it to any sensor without a gauge and get a reading on the noland. You do need to know the specs for the sender to calibrate the Noland for the correct range.

If I read the article right doesn't it end up as a NEMA 2000 message?

It could interface with any NEMA 2000 compatible device then right?

Are there in dash mounting options? Larger display options? Cool project Pete!

If I had a 12" display and 2 nplans boxes I could run 6 gauges each engine correct?

So lots of new chartplotters offer instrument display and are designed to plug and play with things like merc smart craft but I dont have smartcraft. The Noland RS11 takes an analog signal that your guages run on and converts it to NEMA 2000 that the new chartplotters can read. So Thomas just pick the brand and size chartplotter you want (make sure it can display instruments) and you can install iot anyway you want.

And Jd you are correct and with 2 units you can have 12 gauges and 2 tachs or 3 if you had trips.

I did oil pressure, oil temp and engine temp.
