Yeah, that was our trip to Bimini a couple weeks ago. I posted about Paramount CC's when I got back, it was the boat we rented from a local.

The concrete ship was the Sapona. Rum smuggling boat washed aground in a 1926 hurricane. US military used it for bombing practice years ago.

We stayed at Bimini Sands on South Bimini:

We stopped at Cat Cay also:

Bimini is only about 50 miles off the coast of Florida. It was a 31 minute flight on that prop plane. The flight was the most expensive part of the trip but my buddy and I split the costs so it wasn't terrible.

Where do you guys boat out of to make the trip? Would love to make that run in the Pursuit sometime, but would be great to go with another boat (and fish along the way of course!) We will be down there Thanksgiving to do some fishing, we boat out of Hollywood (Lauderdale or Haulover inlet).

It is an easy run "east" of haulover.....50 +/- miles. I have always left from Port Everglades but Haulover works too! Winter crossings can be tough as the gulfstream gets rough. My buddy went the week before I was there and it was sh!tty all weekend, fishing was bad and the ride home was 3.5 hours banging around the whole trip.

We cheated this trip and flew!

I run out of Boca. We are "always fishing " so it could take 1.5 hrs or it could take 5 hrs depending on what we find. Like JS said the winter months bring the northern fronts. If you know the pattern you can make an educated guess on when to cross. The north winds push the pelagics south so the bite is generally strong. However this summer the fishing has been good most everywhere.

have your passports , saftey gear and rods ready.. awesome adventures just across the ocean

Great video! Our friends just got back from a week in Bimini on board his Viking. We were unable to go but hopefully will some day. Will be at our condo in Ft. Pierce for a month or more in about 10 days.
