Poker runs should all have a 0-50/60 class with reasonable entry fees to be more inclusive, they are typically over priced IMO, yes the big guns are the draw but dont forget the little guy. 500 to enter then 100 per passenger is too high

You might want to consider the Rochester Offshore Powerboat Association's Battleship Run every July just across the pond on Seneca Lake in New York State. We've taken care of both of your issues and have been doing it for 25 years.

When you sit and think about what it costs and how much work goes on behind the scenes to put on a bigger run, and then most bigger runs are for a charity, its no longer so unreasonable,

1. It`s always a dick measuring contest, not everyone wants go WOT the entire time. Some folks just wanna go for a nice ride with other powerboaters.
2. If the food and atmosphere sucks at a place one year why have it there again next year?

I don't know why anyone would complain about a dik measuring contest when they'd place in the top group, (based strictly on the criteria implied that is Dannyboy).
