Default 575 Sci oil dipstick problem

2002 fountain
When I checked the oil port motor and tried to reinsert dipstick back it would only go till about 2-3 inches from all in . Don't know if anyone has had this happen? Switched the sticks and will go in the starboard engine fine.???

wonder if the dipstick tube has started to come out of block. if so you will hit the "land" machined for the tube. Gentle tap on end of tube with piece of wood might fix problem

Excellent advice - this happens to a ton of motors - not just Mercruiser 575's. It's part of the daily life of those who work on anything with an engine and a dipstick. LOL.
