In NC, you ahve to pay your personal property taxes and get a NC inspection on the vehicle before you get the privilege to pay for the tag. Glad all my vehicles will have TN tags and no more personal property tax in about 3 weeks. Hell yea TN baby!

I will never understand why anyone would live in those states that charge outrageous personal property taxes.
The tags tend to be on high end cars (Lambo, 2 Ferraris and a Range Rover come to mind as cars I have noticed) |

I can't see the allure but I will tell Stu Jones from FPC that the keys are done, the best boating in the country is in CT! :evilb: |
Business in NC for me and my wife too. Also where I grew up and my mom lives. Retiring to TN though and we have a place in KY as well. Good boating all around us at all the places we own. Maintaining 3 homes is a PITA though, but NC is the most expensive personal property/real property tax wise. Our taxes in KY went down, in NC they went up 300. TN has pretty high property tax, once we close on our new place for more than 250K less than the tax value, I make a trip to the courthouse and show them what we paid and try to get them down to that figure and save a couple thousand a year. My truck (tow vehicle) in NC 650 a year personal property tax and tag. My truck in TN, 85 a year if I get the save the black bear tag, 35 if I don't. No personal property tax on it.

Really? Cold water even in the summer? Fog that hides buoys when your running offshore? :D
