It doesn't require the entire notch to be filled.

Doubt it will be much different or minor in cost to totally fill the notch

thanks for the replys I was thinking surface drives would definitely have less drag and you can control the drive height

As high as those drives are I don't really see a big reduction in drag. But how many times have you heard someone say they blew an Arneson?? about 1/1000 > of a #6 :)

I think the hull would benefit from the stern lift of the arnesons. Notice how the motors are mounted pretty far forward?

JDB1981, does your boat have the mini center pod?

What is the weight of difference of an Arneson VS #6?

I suggest you find out what updates have been done to the bottom first. The F34 has some handling issues that were improved with bottom changes/updates. As I understand it even with the updates the F34 has some inherent handling issues. There are a few F34 owners that have spent a lot of money on setup to get the boat to work and I would try to get in contact with those owners to learn from their experiances. I saw a video on the DCB section here of a member that looked like he got the setup pretty dialed in.

Dave or Tony at DCB may have some thoughts on an Arnesons that may or may not help you in the decision making process.

It does have a mini pod I did read in the dcb section about the one guy got his set up with no bottom work but he raised the drive

Less than half the weight
