It's easy to run around in chop for a half hour and say it's fun because it is. However to really find out what you and your boat are made of go run on big water for three hours straight in solid 3-4s with nowhere to hide and very few other boats out there. That's when you learn how to handle your boat, how to approach waves, how to adjust your tabs, etc.
If you can do that without your crew hating you and being miserable, then you know what you are doing and how to handle your stuff

I would probably have to put myself in the category of running my boat kind of hard all of the time. I'm usually with boats that are longer, faster and have newer hull technology than mine. I am just trying to keep up. I am usually running from 4800-6000RPM's in most conditions. I am very familiar with my boat and feel like I know it's limitations. I just haven't found them yet.

I Must be getting old cuz now if it's than 3'ers + I'm more concerned with keeping the wife dry and comfortable than I am getting the props out of the water.
Unfortunately for her my boat rides dryer and smoother at speed so.......
A little romping now and again in the ocean swells. but no trimming the motors all the way up and hitting wakes like a tool. I mean Billy bad as$....
after all. ...... they are OFFSHORE boats not jet skis right?
