I bunch them up in a little pile to keep them out of the way takes less than 5 seconds

How about those with poles at the dock ? I ask because pretty much every dock on our lake has wooden posts (most 4x4)....therefore some of us drape the rest of the line over the pole in a quick and easy to do orderly fashion.
