Default Smart Craft vs. Vessel View

I currently have a sc5000 smartcraft display in my boat. it works but the screen is a little faded and it's a little beat up. I have a guy that will sell me a Vessel View Race Edition. The boat is a 2006 Formula 330 with twin 496 MAG's, DTS, smartcraft, and B3. Can I simply swap screens? I realize that the hole size will be different (which is easy to fix) but will the existing cable match up?

This is the unit:

This is what is in there now:

Good question. I have a SC1000 and was thinking about doing the same thing.

The cables are not the same. The new cable will connect to the same Junction Box that the System View is connected to.

Davidwademarine, do you happen to know a part number or price on the cables?

I'll look through some of our older Mercury catalogs later today and see if I can find it.

My mechanic seem to think everything will work I'm just going to have to replace the cable that runs from the box to the unit (about $80). I'm going to pick it up and I'll let you know how everything works out.
