Hey guy's, Hope all is well! Been awhile since I posted and I wanted to give a shout out to Hydromotive props. Tested a Bravo 1 26 4 blade over my 27 3 blade. Went from 36mph @ 3300 to 44mph @3300. Once I reached 70 @5000 it couldn't hold and would break loose like clock work on several runs. Tried the Hydromotive 26 4 (cleaver style) and that was bad..... No bite and went to 5800rpm like it was on ice. Called Hydromotive, spoke to Todd and he recommended the 26 5 blade. Did the install and 46mph at 3300 and 76 @5300/5400 (running 5 1/2 lbs of boost) and the math says I have 18% slippage. Going to put on a imco shorty, my prop shaft is 6 inches below the keel so I hoping the 2 inch decrease in depth will get me a few more mph? Ill update after I give it a try......
(My stock Bravo 3 blade 27 was a pain, would blow out all the time and 72 to73 mph at 5400/5500 rpm )

just went through a lot of that. I was 7 3/8" deep, tried -3's, had to add 1" spacer just to get on plane with 5 blade 28. had 24% slip. I think you will get more slip. that will cause you to need more blades like you did from 3 blade to 4 blade to 5 blade. more blades cost lost more money.

what kind of scarab is it how and what engine with what power? I could see blowing out a 3 blade with a ton of power but a 4 blade bravo is seems like something could be causing it to blow out .
I had a 29 800 hp with a 26 4 blade turning 5800 -6000 rpm with a 1 inch shorty and it ran about 83mph

Hey Hull, Its a 1988 Scarab Concept. Padded bottom single step. Small Chevy bb 489, flat tappet hyd 580, 8.5 pistons, 502 rectangular port heads, 174 B&M blower with chiller. With the small snout pulley dyno 684hp @5300 (the motor would go to 5800), I was running mid size pulley at time of testing on the water making about 600hp. I have our boats at Great Oak. Maybe we have run into one another at Jelly Fish Joel's?
The boat is all white, pro stock hood scoop and has a gloss black windshield and black side air intake with the exhaust exiting the transom above the swim platform.
