98 35 Foutain lightning with two locked up motors.
4Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. My boat has twin intercooled whipple charged 502 alledgedly making around 750 horsepower a side, it has stelling stand off boxes, external hydrolic steering 380 K planes, CMI two piece headers, Myco trailer with 4K in work this summer. One engine had a leaking header, and the other a blown headgasket, today I find out both motors are seized and may take 15K to rebuild the motors. At what point do you part out the boat and cut your losses.

maybe they are hydro locked.pull the plugs and bump starters.unless they sat a long time they may not be as bad as you think.
|
+1 I think I would pull the plugs and turn it over with a breaker bar first in case the rings are stuck. Good luck

thanks guys, all good advice, headed to the boat with five gallons of diesel, and some coca cola, nothing to loose at this point
|
I don't think I would part it out if it's just motor rebuilds, that is pretty standard for these things. If there are other issues well,,,,,,,,,,

Winter is young, take your time and DIY.

Where do you keep the boat?
|
Hold on. No suggestions to unload it on someone else and stick them with the problems?
It's like I don't even understand the performance boating world any more... |
ID part it out.............I'll take the Whipples :santa:............... just kidding, good luck

I actually keep the boat near Lake Sommerville, good news is that one motor has freed up after soaking 24 hours in marvel mystery oil and diesel, the second motor, (rebuilt by Victory Marine (in this case we now refer to victory Marine as the Defendant) in Kemah in July for $8,000 is still stuck). Do not let Victory Marine work on your boat, and I am accepting cases against them. Yep you guessed it, I am a lawyer. thanks for all the suggestions, recent events have made me decide to make repairs, not that many folks have a 100mph boat, and its way cheaper than buying a new one, and its paid for.
