I purchased 2 of the Scarab models several years ago in the $30 range from ebay. Had I known then that there was such variation between the different seasons, I would've done them differently. I

One of my co managers on the page recently scored a nice piece.
He found a poster that Monogram would've sent to hobby shops to promote new releases.
Interesting piece because the box art is different than the actual ki, has a different stock number and has the pinstriped arch and no fading deck stripe as Star 1 appeared in early Wellcraft ads, "Prodigal Son" and "Whatever Works".
"Out Where the Buses Don't Run" is the first appearance of the fading arch and deck stripes.
The Wellcraft ads were touched up by airbrushing the fade on the arch, but the deck remained as was.
Probably the only time that combo appeared with the Special Edition hull stripe instead of the show version.
I wonder how Wellcraft felt about the Stingers sharing the spotlight.
Ok, I'm officially a geek

Hey guys, would anyone have any interest in a time lapse video of the restoration?
Been putting some thought to the idea and called Dave to see how he would feel about a camera in his shop during his portion of the project, due to some of his customers wanting to keep projects under wraps until they unveil the finished product.
He said he's always wanted to do something like that, but was waiting for the right project.
Any thoughts?

I was thinking if you would ever be interested. You should do a Scarab KV38's get together. Have people bring there's from all over the world. That would be really cool. Have the get together maybe in the Great Lakes?

It would be pretty tough to pull off.
We have pics of 21 different Vice Editions and four show boats.
Of those boats, 18 have been identified with about a dozen sea worthy with only six of those restored or under restoration.
If I could've gotten our star boat a couple months earlier, we could've put it together with Brian's boat at Dave's shop and Tony's before it was shipped from MI to FL.
Three Vice boats together would've been a great pic.
The running boats are scattered all over the U.S., Canada and Europe
