Miami Vice season 2 Scarab changes hands
SubscribeJust a sneak peek at the task ahead.
The wife took one look at it, shook her head and said "I guess We have a project ahead of us"
She understands my visions

If the wife gets mad at you just tell her don Johnson dropped some cushion babies off in the cabin with the b actresses who thought they would make it big. Good luck on your rebuild. I'm sure it will be cool

As you said, "pretty rough shape".
I'm still envious, I'd love to own such a boat and make It 'like new' again. Just very difficult trying to find anything at all classic from my part of the world and then importing it. It's a shame with so many older boats that they were let go. If only there was some way of forewarning owners and predicting what will become a collectors item in 20 years time.
Well done on the find, what a great project.

She's in pretty rough shape, but 100% intact and unmolested as it was used in the show except for the risers and KAAMA mufflers, which the owner still had.
Brad Wallace recently went through the Cyclones, so they're ready other then needing to be made cosmetically correct to original.
Dave will be handling the glass and paint
Glad to see it all came together for you. Hope Tony and Brad were what I told you they were.Originally Posted by scarab kv

Congrats. Looking forward to the restoration.
This show was responsible for my interest and love of boating.

Looks like the old girl is in need of some serious love. It also sounds like she's about to get it!
Great find congrats on the purchase. You should contact speed on the water or speedboat magazine and see if they'll cover the restoration story. Its an important boat. I was already boating when Vice came out, but it was with the family in a trawler. My friends and I liked jet boats, etc. at the lake. It was Vice that introduced us to offshore.
