There was one 600 boat. "First Born". The Ilmor F-4 was slower than the 700 boats not by the fault of the propulsion package.

725 Ilmor's & 700 Merc's are not exact but pretty equal. With the claims you make the Arenson boat should have been faster, no? I was just asking a simple question on why it didn't seem to work as well on the Fountain. Could be many reasons, sorry for wanting to be more knowledgeable about your product. No reason to be a d*ck about it!

Oh snap... sombodys gonna get B slapped in 1,2,3

Same here - I can't imagine a reason why a #6, as hydrodynamically efficient as they are, could be faster...

-#6 is still dragging the skeg AND the bottom half of the gear housing bullet (fairly large in diameter due to the lower gear).
-Arneson's are dragging the skeg and ONLY the bottom half of the prop shaft housing with NO gear, just a small diameter tube with bearings inside.

Should be less drag, period.

You didnt mention parasitic loss going thru 2 90 degree changes of direction, im no ff in engineer but common sense tells me a straight shaft attached to a cv joint is gonna have a lot less parasitic hp loss...

btw no one yet has called the arneson props ginsu knives yet on this thread... i love that one... like the clown thinks arnesons have different wheels than a six

Look at the schematics and technically it is the entire propshaft trimmed. Ride in an Arneson boat compared to exact same boat w bravo style drive and you'd be sold. Boat is a 100x better w arnesons

Whats if thats all in your mind and its actually only 97.4x better... then what you wanna fight about it... lol

800 hours now on my triple Arneson ASD 8's and still going strong. The setup works well on my 50 Nor Tech Vee. Only thing I have done is change the bellows a couple years ago as part of preventative maintenance.

Bob

I thought arneson maint was hosing them off with fresh water end of season, and an occasional oil change every second leap year

there is a dude on scream and fly and donzi register that has a donzi 18 with 1000 ponies and an arneson that runs 120+ like its on rails... does that count
