I should have said in my first post, I'm not talking canopied race boats, or really any gutted out race boat in general.

Love Billy Boats beak.

There's so many different styles of boats now it's hard to compare. That fountain is a 4 Person sit down boat no cabin. Is it fast? Hell yeah it is!! I believe joes white canopied boat has ac and cabin ect. Guess what I'm trying to say is there are canopied pleasure boats out there now cats and v's.. So comparing is a little tougher these days

Sgros 43 has no cabin at all, it's a race boat. He did put the back seats back in the boat recently. I do agree just a canopy is not the deciding factor between race and pleasure.

Thanks, I have a lot of time and effort into that boat. I do everything myself. I'm very lucky to have close friends that are legends in performance boating that I can get advice and help from. Joe Sgro, Billy Betz, Joe Cibellis, Jeff Cropper, Richie Zul, Skip (MRD) and a few others are the reason my boat runs as fast as it does. Now it's Eddie Young's turn , he has my engine on his dyno now fine tuning the program and seeing what kind of power we can squeeze out of it on race fuel. I'm not really planning on running it on fuel other than Loto this year.
The boat in its current set up is more than I ever need for a poker run ,fun run, or cruising around. It jumps up on plane ,accelerates hard, shifts at the dock with out stalling, rides stable in any condition at any speed and has a killer stereo lol
I'm sure I could get a few more MPH out of it by raising drive 1" , cutting more ventalation into the bilge removing 200 lbs of stereo equipment , raise water pick up to bare minimum , thin props, Wilson lowers......., but then it's not a pleasure boat.
I
