Hope all is well with your projects Dan, give me a shout after you look at it.
This is about all I'd need to know right here.

The guy he was talking to (that owns it now) about the boat, was he the builder? Maybe he is not sure himself what was used. Im not a glass guy. Dave, could you tell by looking at pictures if he's still interested in it. Of the Glass work?

i really value the professional advice, that's why i asked
hi dave, the scarab is long gone but i have a pile of parts and accy's in good order (other than freshen up) been floating around in 270 sundancer that i really like but still have the itch so i'm thinking a 24/7 is in order.
if it's bi-ax with gp resin which is what he stated could i identify it by color versus the color of ve resin
the guy that owns it now was not the builder per him but seemed to know something about the layup
i agree to look for a name brand to do resto my problem is trying to find gelcoat not paint that i don't know whats under it, even better if it's on the correct trailer
that's why i like the army boat it's gel it's on the trailer it left the factory with, or that's what it looks like. even tho it was hit i don't know where or how bad and if that's what ended it's racing days.
i'll go look at this boat and we'll see what happens, worst case i just stay on the drivetrain till it's done and then wait for the right hull to pop up

sorry for the long wind reply, and again really appreciate the input guys, keep it coming
dave i will ring you up after the looksee
thanks

If you're thinking about the army boat. In my opinion I would not worry about the repair. It was hit on the first race and I'm sure they repaired correctly because it was still there boat. I've had many Panteras And truly know what they can go through and how long they last I would deathly consider that boat for the right price
