8x20 htm vs big b 8 x20 what to buy ?

I prefer the Polyform type that are not HTM (hole through the middle). I feel like in certain situations, the fenders with the "ears" or tabs on the ends are better for suspending just below the rub rail than the HTMs which want to kick out unless they suspended lower than where the protection is needed.
