So now that you determined that a stock 502 magnum or a 420 would be a economical base point for a blower motor where do you go from there?

Is a Procharger the most efficient blower out there? Can you get away without an inter cooler on it. ? Or would you be better with a under driven 420 or 8-71 without a cooler so you might be able to keep it under the hatches?

Tim you need new cams anyways, may as we'll make them blower cams. Another 8 to 10 thousand could have that Mistress running 77 maybe:daz::

I would not be running anything im going to hold WFO for 30+ seconds boosted without an intercooler, IMO.

Your mileage may vary

Ive been running for years without intercoolers, and have held it wot for alot longer than 30 seconds at a time. Closer to 30 miles wide open on funs runs .

I originally had Chief Blower Motors in my 1993 Top Gun before I upgraded them. They were 502's with 671 and aluminum heads. They made 690HP and had no intercoolers. They ran over 500 HRS, with only the top end refreshed once. Many times with the throttles against the dash, 5-6 lbs of boost. No issues not having intercoolers. Ran like a top

I have 700hp blower motors and love them.

That said, I would take 700 N/A motors any day for the fact they have way fewer moving parts, belts, and potential for things to go wrong and if built right can run on 89 octane. I am running 93 octane which is getting harder to find on the water.
