The hatch didn't shut. Had to put the oval cut outs and yes the arm was very tight fit. Always something lol

Your bilge looks like a operating room, nice looking mils, whats up with the collar on the header flange......whats the bullet weigh ??

Thanks need some rigging will still be very clean. Very happy with the motors and build on them. The flanges are for clamps to hold the tails on. cigarette says 8,700, I say more. http://i902.photobucket.com/albums/a...psxyvtknlb.jpg

Blown 540. Reason being is set the bottom end up right. Keep compression low and it becomes easier to add boost for speed later if you really wanted. Build it N/A and your compression will likely be higher so you have to be more careful adding boost when it isn't fast enough and let's be honest. It's never fast enough. Lol

I agree with the thought of building a 540ci (or larger) with a decent forged bottom end that can handle some boost. Build it with lower CR and run a thinner HG to raise the CR back up some and it can be used NA, put a fatter HG in there and you can drop it down and run boost. Running NA you can meet the goal of this exercise, WHEN you get have the funds and get itchy for more power, just change the HG and add the blowers and you're all set to make some bigger numbers.

Mike what is the best route to take to build a motor to get the most power and reliability for the least amount of money?smaller cubes with less exotic parts with a blower or big cubes winding to the moon?

I'd just call Cobra Power.......best used parts money can buy! :evilb:

The goal was 650 horse right. If you can get there with a 420 Merc with a decent size blower , would some Afr heads be overkill for the bottom end ?

A buddy did small cam upgrade and 5 psi prochargers on his 420's made 716 on dyno 5800 rpm. good gains!!

Until it breaks, with safer tune was 680 hp, should be fine for a while...
