Default Fireboy Ext Question

My boat had one installed when I bought it used. The needle shows it is no longer good and the light on the dash does not illuminate. The dealer who I purchased the boat said not worry about it and get some portables. I don't like that option and would to have it working properly. Can I just remove it and take it to a fire extinguisher company and have it charged? #newbie

The sizing is based on volume, so you'll want to match up to what is currently installed.
