Matt,

I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that's not actually a classic rooster tail. Rooster tails are generally thrown up by the prop(s) of a boat and thus out the stern. What I see in that picture is being thrown up by the skid fin. Still mighty impressive though!

You could be right—I kind of see it the same way when I look closer at the image. Still, while perhaps not a "classic" rooster tail coming off the props, I'm not sure there's a better description for it beyond "skid induced, rooster-tail-like water curtain." And that's a mouthful. Hell, it was hard to type.

So with your observation properly noted and appreciated, I'll leave the headline intact.
