Local cigarettes, Hong Tong whiskey, wooden boats with old Toyota or Nissan diesels and crude Arnesons.

Thais are absolutely fearless, can improvise with anything and know how to have fun on a budget. I’ve heard speeds around 130kmh (80+ mph) are common. Probably feels like 200 but I don’t think gps would agree. 🙂

If you had sold them to Tyson, a lot of pain would have been saved.

Those guys are nuts. But for that why not Gas motors? Unless they just can not get very big ones.

love those videos, the question would be though when you look at purpose and weight of boat. as impressive as they are, they arent what typical americans are using diesel engines for. Whats the performance diff between the seateks and a cummins 550? would a boat be better with 3 of the bigger seateks vs 4 of the 550s?

Nothing like taking a boat that looks like a sheet of plywood for a ride at over a 100 mph

Believe wasn't enough HP for the original plan. Which would have seen the boat packing an extra 10k lbs in fuel for range. Reliable 800-900hp 1500tq options have been presented in sub 7.0L platforms. I've personally logged over 100hr @ 800hp, but experiencing head gasket issues when turned up above 900.

What he has now would likely last 1000hrs minimum turned down to 800hp. Just requires sorting out some bolt on issues like I've had to, and call it done.. But what's the fun in that? Kinda like drag cars. Getting any gasser into the 11's is fairly easy, hitting low 9's cost ya twice as much, time and money. Or ya could just go buy a new Tesla, never turn a wrench, and let the wife make 9sec passes while explaining to all your buddies why electric cars are so much cooler.. Not.

A 500hp 4cly twin turbo diesel mounted on a stick, bolted to a couple more sticks, what's not to love?? :-)

If we keep hijacking his thread, think he will reply? LOL

everything they build is sick. ThunderChild 1 (it's predecessor) was incredible.
