Or are these claims of "Mold holding/theft" actually from boat owners engaging in hearsay?
I can't really tell who is who under all the screen names.

I would think if OL showed up at Eliminator doorstep with trucks demanding their IP (molds) and didnt get it we'd have all heard about this firsthand, but maybe not.

I would think the lawsuits would be flying and wed be reading about them online.

Exactly, I call 100% bullchit on that one. But, hearsay is good enough on OSO. At the very least I'm sure there is another side to the story.

5 for the hatch?!?!? trying to figure that out just real quick- 1 for a scoop, 1 for the flat part of the hatch, 1 for a brace + 2 more?

Whats the beam?

Innerlined - I would expect that from Ol (and demand that as a client of any of these boats)

UD

Those two(2) carbon fiber accents along the hatch make up the other molds. Here's the Elim in Toronto ...

The beam was like 8' 1" I believe ...

400's would take some development as well. What do you do with the 32" bustle? Notch it or cut it off? The back of the hull is designed for a single I/O; barely enough width for two big Merc outboards.

A single 565 will make that boat a great cruiser ... IMO

Yeah, probably too much $$ to justify the expense given how few have been sold over the years, unless the tooling is a write-down for OL at this time. The classic "throwing good money after bad" proposition ?

Saturday afternoon before the race on Sunday Doc called me and I caught a flight from Va to Chicago...got to MC at 2 am....so when we started the race on Sunday it was the first time Doc and I had ever been in the boat together...so yeah it took us a few laps to get things worked out....by the end of the 2nd race we were about 3/4 lap ahead of the Fountain....congrats on proving Dan wrong

And by the way Brian Forehands shop is not on the Pamlico river....it is in Wilmington Nc....the boat is routinely tested in the ocean

Good of you to put to rest the fiction about the boat's record. It's impressive enough without hyperbole.

Like all stories - probably 3 sides.

Why hasn't Shueman commented? I mean it's not like he doesn't act like he represents Eliminator Boats on here.

SS930 03-20-2016 04:33 PM

My understanding is OL has been nicely requesting to have the molds returned for about a year and a half. I don't understand why Eliminator is not commenting unless they have something to hide. If they want to keep or make a copy of them, they should be renegotiating with OL to do so, but as it stands now, it's my understanding they are not their molds to keep.

Interesting, you seem to be the online rep for Eliminator at any other time.

You are right though, it's not really my place to comment as I don't know the details and I honestly don't need to know. With that said, if OL truly owns the molds and they want them back yet Eliminator refuses to return them, I'm sure the public would like to know that. I can't imagine too many folks would want to support a company harboring stolen IP and/or property.

tmmii 03-20-2016 05:24 PM

Someone posted earlier there was a used one for sale, which power and what's the price?

Not much of an offshore boat tho right?

phragle 03-20-2016 06:32 PM

This is just a wild ass guess, but I suspect the answer to why the molds have not been returned probably has something to do with the entire deal that was made in the first place and Eliminator has not made the money they thought they would and.or hasn't recouped their investment and the deal has since changed...

Not say either party is at fault or blaming either party, Im just saying that the deal has probably changed and eliminator is probably holding molds so they dont get the perceived short end of the stick... again, just a guess....

Yes, read the rest of what I wrote for explanation.

Well please enlighten us then because on the surface it appears Eliminator is harboring stolen IP/property. If so, I don't think anyone here wants to support this behavior. If this is not accurate, it's in Eliminator's best interest to clear the air here as (again) people here don't want to support that type of nefarious BS.

Gotta love an Internet tough guy, LOL!

1) GO BOATING.
2) IF YOU CAN'T GO BOATING, GO WORK ON OR WAX YOUR BOAT.
3) IF YOU DON'T HAVE A BOAT, GO WAX YOUR BUDDY'S BOAT.
4) IF none of the above apply, go take a nap.

Thread has run it's course; now closed.
